What is mindfulness?

Mindfulness can be defined in several ways. For instance: complete awareness, being alert/attentive, focusing on the here and now, observing without judgement and complete awareness of the present situation. I believe we are, by nature, all mindful, but daily life can distract us.

How can we focus on mindfulness?

In my awareness training I approach mindfulness as a connection with yourself and your surroundings. To be in a state of mindfulness results in well-being and balance in the body-mind-spirit connection. It can help you to be more flexible in your daily life.

I apply the Buddhist tradition of meditation to reach this state of equilibrium and flexibility. You will find balance in health, will reduce stress, improve your relationships and lessen depression. Mindfulness leads to a state of compassion. One condition is to love oneself and to take care of oneself. Only then you are capable of understanding and helping others.
